Stralis is top choice for Craig Kirwin Transport
26/11/2008, Watford
The new arrival joins three Stralis tractors supplied earlier in the year, with the deliveries following an extensive programme of demonstrations which saw the company trial equivalent vehicles from different manufacturers, including Mercedes-Benz, MAN, and Renault.
Craig Kirwin, Managing Director, explains: "The new Stralis is as solid as any truck on the market and our own product demonstration saw it come out top in terms of fuel economy, driver comfort and ability to get the job done. The drivers have been itching to get inside the new vehicles and first impressions have been very positive indeed. It's a real driver's truck through and through.
"From a business perspective, the Stralis' competitive whole life costs also make it a very attractive package and the support from NETV has been second to none. In comparison to our recent experiences with another dealer it's a league apart," he adds.
The latest Stralis is plated to 44 tonnes and has been supplied by NETV's dealership in Immingham on a comprehensive five year Iveco Elements ‘Motion' repair and maintenance contract. It is expected to clock-up more than 130,000 km a year and will be used on general haulage operations across the country.
The Stralis is powered by Iveco's 12.88 litre Cursor 13 engine, delivering up to 500 hp between 1,525 and 1,900 rev/min and a maximum 2,300 Nm of torque between 1,000 and 1,525 rev/min.
