Empirica EDIS provides a complete delivery/collection management system which extends the control of inventory and media beyond the four walls of the warehouse. Delivery drivers no longer need a pen and paper and instead use mobile ruggedised PDA's as a their delivery manifest. The device stores details of all deliveries and collections to be done which download automatically via GPRS when the driver is ready to depart. Delivery and collection point information can be displayed en route providing the driver with navigational assistance via link to sat-nav systems if required.

At the delivery point full details can be recorded including arrival and departure data, goods delivered information, delivery problems and receiver information. Information is sent directly back to WMS system to allow delivery supervisors full access to information and route progress, allowing fast problem resolution and control over collection/delivery rescheduling.
