Axiom designs and manufactures a range of specialised product labelling systems, for application onto random sized products, containing dynamic product information, such as barcodes etc.

Many of our competitors supply labelling equipment, essentially sticking a label on a product is pretty simple, so is printing barcodes, or dynamic data.

The hard bit is applying labels, or generating data in real time conditions, as products fly past the labelling equipment at speeds of 200 plus items per minute, or the system is trying to apply a label onto a particularly complex surface.

Axiom developed a print and apply machine, utilising an industry standard OEM print engine, we then developed a range of machine supports. Finally we developed a range of application heads.

It is these application heads that give the machine the edge, the body of the machine is much like any of its counterparts, it has an unwind unit, a print engine and a rewind unit.

The application head can be adapted to suit any specific requirement, some examples include:
  • Dynamic height application onto a moving product
  • Application of shipping labels onto moving cartons
  • Application of product labels onto vehicle wheel assemblies
In some cases the application head consists of a pneumatically operated drive system, which can power the label to the product surface, stopping when it meets resistance, other more demanding applications utilise high speed servo driven systems to move the label to within millimetres of the product for a blow on application.

As well as supplying a machine with interchangeable application heads, Axiom can supply dedicated product presentation equipment, after all ensuring the product is in a consistent place is one of the major criteria for consistent and accurate labelling.

Finally, software, Axiom has an in-house software development department, capable of producing dedicated software packages for print and apply installations. Capturing product information, producing dynamic data labels, shipping labels, carton labels, courier labels etc., is all part of Axiom's portfolio.
